Finance

The following costs are all covered by the programme and you have to pay nothing for these:

  • Accommodation
  • Food
  • Airport pickup (as long as you arrive/depart on the specified dates)
  • Tuition
  • Activities

You have to cover the cost of:

  • Flights
  • Visas
  • Travel Insurance
  • Vaccinations

Take a quick look at any travel website to get an idea how much flights might cost for the time the programme is running. The cost of an Indian tourist visa is about £30 but check for further details here: http://in.vfsglobal.co.uk/touristvisa_fees.html.  Depending on your GP or travel clinic, vaccinations may be free.

Other sources of Finance
Many Universities and Colleges are now providing funding and assistance for this programme. We suggest you contact your International Office, School/College Office and Careers Office for advice in the first instance. Students have in the past also obtained funding from local newspapers, local councils and local businesses, sometimes in exchange for writing an article after the event.

Spending Money
We recommend about £200-300 spending money, more if you intend to shop or eat out in Western style restaurants and bars.
